DAY 1/ 08 FEB: PHNOM PENH ARRIVAL - CITY TOUR

Your afternoon sightseeing tour begins with a visit to the magnificent Royal Palace and the famous Silver Pagoda, the official residence of the King of Cambodia.

The Royal Palace is one of Phnom Penh’s most remarkable architectural landmarks, gleaming beautifully with golden Khmer-style structures and intricate detailing. The palace complex showcases Cambodia’s royal heritage and stunning craftsmanship.

Located within the palace grounds, the Silver Pagoda is renowned for its breathtaking floor made from over 5 tons of shining silver. Visitors can view some of the original silver tiles near the entrance, while the remaining sections are carefully protected. Inside the pagoda, you will discover an extraordinary collection of Buddha statues crafted from precious metals and adorned with priceless gems.

After exploring the palace complex, continue your journey through the scenic riverside park where the four rivers converge, including the mystical Mekong River. The peaceful atmosphere and panoramic views make it one of the city’s most relaxing locations.

Later, visit the sacred hill of Wat Phnom, also known as Phnom Daun Penh, from which the capital city derives its name. This iconic pagoda and spiritual site is deeply connected to the history and foundation of Phnom Penh.

In the afternoon, continue your cultural exploration with a visit to Senteurs d’Angkor (open Monday to Friday and closed on weekends).

This fascinating workshop introduces visitors to the craftsmanship of local artisans who create handmade products using traditional Cambodian techniques. Discover how natural soaps made from coconut oil, organic cosmetics, aromatic candles, scented balms, and herbal products are carefully produced by hand.

You will also observe the preparation and processing of Cambodia’s famous local spices such as Kampot pepper, lemongrass, and chili. Learn how these ingredients are blended to create traditional Khmer dishes like curry and the renowned Cambodian amok.

During your visit, enjoy tasting a variety of local specialties including flavored coffee, aromatic teas, and exotic fruit jams. The workshop gardens also feature many tropical plants and flowers such as jasmine, frangipani, coffee trees, lemongrass, pepper plants, and chili plants.

Explore Wat Bo Pagoda
